Are you ready for a Pine + Bow quilt along?
While at QuiltCon, I got excited to do another quilt along, and many of you seemed interested too. We did some polling on instagram to see what folks would want to sew on during a quilt along and two patterns came out on top–Pine and Bow. So, let’s do both!
How will the Quilt Along Work?
The plan is to keep things pretty casual and fun. I’ve mapped out 4 weeks of posts that will start Thursday, April 20 and go until Thursday, May 11. Each week, I’ll share thoughts on fabric, tips + tricks as well as share projects from you.
Since folks were closely split between these two patterns, I figured we could share the love between the two. You don’t need to make both–feel free to pick the one that speaks to you. I love that one is machine-sewing and the other is handwork. Hopefully that will offer a nice balance for what you are in the mood for.
AND, I’m pretty excited to answer your questions each week as we go along. Submit your questions here, and I’ll answer three each week.
What’s the schedule?

What do I need?
Pick the pattern you want to work with and grab a copy.
// Pine is here.
Pine is a foundation paper pieced project, so you’ll want to get your supplies and set-up ready for that.
// Bow is here, and the acrylic templates are here.
Bow is an appliqué project. Feel free to use any appliqué technique you like. I’ll be using needle-turn appliqué, and you can check out my favorite supplies for that here. My basic starter set is also back in stock in the shop.
You can peruse your stash or local shop to start thinking about the fabrics you’d like to use. I’ll be sharing fabric thoughts in the next two posts.
Don’t forget to submit your questions. I’m really excited to be sewing along with you soon!
