Pine + Bow Quilt Along Post #5: A Finish!
It’s time to share a finish–or two–my final Pine and Bow! I chatted quite a bit about both in this new video. Check it out here.
In this video I share each of my finished projects, talk about the quilting for each, decide on my borders and binding choices, as well as offer up some takeaways from the experience. It’s not too often that I get this kind of chance to share so much about my thought process, and I hope there are some nuggets in there for you to carry along on your own journey.
My Pine Quilt Finished
Here’s a look at my finished Pine quilt.
My favorite part is how the binding worked out at the top, left corner. The print in the fabric magically frames it, which was a total accident. There’s no way I could have planned for this. I love a happy surprise!
I decided to add borders to the sides in order to make it a bit more square. It’s just what I was feeling.
My Bow Quilt Finished
Here’s my Bow quilt finished.
I entertained the idea of turning it into a pillow sham, but given the motif size I decided a mini wall hanging would be even better.
The binding was a flavorful choice that goes in a totally different color direction. It’s what I was in the mood for, and I really like the color and texture it adds to the project.
Some of your projects!
It’s been such a joy to sew along with you. Here are some of your projects. Thank you so much for sharing them with me! Each maker is tagged and linked in the caption.
Yay!
If you haven’t already, check out my Pinterest board for the Quilt Along here. I find it all very inspiring.
It’s been so much fun sewing along with you and sharing more about my own process and seeing yours. What did you think?
Continue to post your projects, because I’ll continue to keep an eye out. If you’d like to ask more questions, I’m keeping this Q&A answer form open. Maybe more videos in the future?

Love how your minis turned out, especially Pine! They’re both such fun plays with pattern. Thanks for sharing my project. I finished my third block last night. 🙂

Thanks for putting another video together. As always Pine and Bow look great. You really have a knack for putting colors and prints together plus your quilting whether by machine or hand you seem to know what kind of “doodle” you should make. Pine is pink and pretty and Bow is pretty as well – has this Dresden look to it-as if you were looking at all these beautiful antique China plates hanging on the wall. Thanks.
