New events in Boston and New Hampshire.

Facing East quilt by Carolyn Friedlander_Savor Each Stitch

One thing that I’ve been doing a lot of lately is booking more teaching gigs, which is pretty exciting. However, one thing that I haven’t been doing so much of lately is sharing what I’ve got coming up, so this week, I’ve got some posts planned to get more of that info out there. Our creative community is super special to me, and I’d love to see and work with you soon if I’ll be in your area!

In a couple of weeks (super soon!) I’ll be in the New England area–which I’m stoked about–and while I’m up there, I’ve got a couple of events.

+ First up is a trunk show and book signing at Quilted Threads in Henniker, New Hampshire from 10:00am – noon on Saturday, June 28. I’ll be bringing tons of quilts from my new book, and I’ll be around to chat/meet/enjoy the locals. (Side-note: You may or may not know this, but also going on that weekend is the Vermont Quilt Show, which sounds fun and exciting. You might want to keep it on your radar if you are in the area. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it, which is too bad, because I hear it’s a good one.)

+ On the next day, June 29, from 11am – 5pm, I’ve got a workshop set up at Gather Here. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful and exciting things about this shop, plus I also know that the Boston area has some amazing quilters, so I’m really looking forward to being there. We’ll be working on the project Facing East from my new book. It’s a fun one, with lots to offer in terms of color and technique, and it’s also not something that I have scheduled to teach anywhere else yet. It’ll be special.

I’m planning to kick it old school (which is usually how I like to roll) and bring colored pencils and markers, so we can get down and dirty with our project planning. Plus, we’ll also talk color, paper piecing, hand appliqué, and whatever else fun and quilty. Get ready for that.

+ Oh, and then on Monday, June 30, starting at 6:00pm we’re also doing a book signing at Gather Here. This event will be open to any and everyone interested. We’ll have copies of Savor Each Stitch, and all of my quilts from the book will be there, so make sure to stop by. It’s likely that the quilts will be at Gather Here sometime soon and leading up the event, so check it out if you are interested.

I am in love with this quilt! I saw it on your IG too. What is the name of this pattern and will you be selling the pattern in your store??

Yay! I just signed up this weekend. I missed your NYC event so I’m so excited I could participate in Boston. Will there be books available for the Sunday class or only at the Monday event? Look forward to meeting you in person!
