Finally, I can share some pics from my newest line, Doe.
I keep thinking of Doe as a bit of a mash-up…
For one, it represents my love of print mixing.
Matching is totally overrated.
And two–which is also what I might like most about it–is that it speaks to the idea of finding beauty and character in things that are raw and sometimes imperfect.
Perfection is also overrated.
The designs are a big mix of things that have worked their way into my life and mind over the last year and a half, including, but not limited to the following: my quilt pattern work, the (new) old digs that I’ve landed in and will be forever dreaming up projects for, having watched a few too many reruns of Saved By The Bell while hand sewing (yes, I’ll admit it…), and my forever love of grids, clean lines, and structure against the reality of what is hand drawn.
More so than with my previous lines, this one started with a strong sense of color, which the name–Doe (in my mind)–seemed to speak to. I was completely allured by a palette that was natural and earthy with lots of creams, white on white, caramels, and browns. Doe seemed to express that while also being simple, clean and totally unfussy.
Stay tuned in the coming weeks for more about the line, and for lots of new projects…

I only recently got back into quilting after a 20 year hiatus and it is mainly because of beautiful fabrics like yours. I really love this line. It looked to me like a sunrise in the stormy sky with the orange in the gray in the light blues. Thank you for doing what you do.

I totally LOVE this! Like all your collections. Congratulations!
I particularly like the circles/dots and the diagonal lines. Very unique.
I love you more with your Saved By the Bell admission.
Your new line is wonderful – I’ll just have to go off my fabric diet!
I thought Architextures was my all time favorite fabric, but now I wonder…….
Doe? Oh, dear. 😀
Thanks for being a big part of why I love fabric, especially YOURS!
Awesome, I am so glad to meet Doe. Your ljnes have become a staple in my stash. Glad to see more wonderful cream prints. I’m a cream-over-white girl anytime!
Your new line is beautiful, Carolyn! I’m sure it will be a big success, just as your previous lines were. I know you’re swapped with quilt market plans, but I’m sure it’s all worth the effort. My best to you as you take the quilting world by storm… again.
Doe is beautiful. I look forward to using it.
