Are you ready for another quilt along? I’m very excited to announce our next (online) sewing adventure–the cf Mini Quilt Along–which will be an 8-week endeavor starting July 19. I’ve been really excited about this, because I think it’ll be a great opportunity to explore creativity in many bits of mini’s, and I’d love for you to join in.
Each week, I’ll have a creative challenge planned. Feel free to use these thoughts to inspire your mini composition for that week. I think it’ll be fun.
In terms of patterns, I’ll be working from all three of my newest patterns (Lusk, Davie and Babson). Each of them have mini options built into the format–making it easy, but the themes each week can be explored through any or all of them if you choose.
I love making minis, because they often jumpstart my creative juices. By giving goals and thoughts each week, I’m hoping to inspire some sewing excitement for all of us.

I’ve been playing with the Totem pattern again (for at least the third time) but I’m having some difficulty getting my project off the ground — the fabric pull is some selected Liberty and many of your designs, but I’m finding some of my test blocks are contrasting value, some are contrasting colour, and then some are too coordinated, making my contrasty blocks look out of place. So I look forward to using your thoughts to give my process some direction. Thanks for the amazing timing!

Thanks, Linda! I don’t have a specific list of coordinates for Polk, but some recent favorites are definitely Paris Blue, Orangeade, Cantaloupe, Roasted Pecan, Acid Lime, Waterfall, Lingerie and Forest Green. These are all konas. 🙂

Still working on my Wainwright and enjoying every slow stitching minute. Hope to be finished by the time the mini quilt along starts. I have just started making mini quilts – entered two in the Curated Quits challenge – you are right, it is a wonderful creative adventure. I am in!

I followed along by dreaming the first time. Now, with a nice collection of fabrics gathered at QuiltCon, and with a few weeks that we have been told to stay at home, I am settling into my sewing room. What a perfect project – can build more each day and can go so many different ways. So nice to be able to enjoy long hours at home.
