Two more Poolside Totes in Carkai and Euclid fabrics.

July 26, 2016 by carolyn friedlander 8 Comments

There are many things about the Poolside Tote by Noodlehead that make it addictive. There’s the style, the functionality, and the fact that it’s just fun to make and plan–all of which are excellent reasons why I keep coming back to it. Here are two more Poolside Totes, this time in Carkai and Euclid fabrics.

Poolside Tote in Carkai

After giving my previous two Poolside Totes away, this first one would be for me.

As for fabrics, the flax-y, natural print from Carkai was my main muse, and I pulled the other pieces in support of it. Sometimes I’ll get things in my head, and that flax-y print had been screaming BAG at me for a long time. Most of the other pieces in my pull are also from Carkai, with a few bits from Doe, plus this Carolina Gingham from Robert Kaufman that I think goes with just about anything.

I also wanted a little pouch to go along with this Poolside tote. It’s a large bag that you can throw lots of stuff in to, and so a little pouch for the important, small stuff seemed like a grand idea. I decided on the Pouch from Noodlehead’s Caravan Tote pattern, a project that has been on my to-make list for a while. While pulling fabrics for the tote, I grabbed fabrics for the pouch as well.

I added piping for decoration and a tab with a ring for function. One thing I love about the Poolside pattern is the suggested tab and swivel clip on the inside, which means you can clip any clip-able thing to it if needed…like this pouch. Perfect.

Poolside Tote in Euclid

The second Poolside tote that I made was for the Euclid release, and you might remember seeing it in the Euclid Lookbook.

This version makes use of plenty of pieces from my soon-to-hit-stores collection Euclid, plus this gingham denim that I can’t stay away from and some Doe Wide on the inside. It’s super blue, and full of print on print, which I like.

I’ve already given this Euclid Poolside Tote away, but I’m sure I’ll find an excuse again soon to make another. After making four, I can probably say that it’s a go-to pattern…

I just made a Modern Clutch Pro using two of your fabrics after I swooned and bought the entire fat quarter collection at Alewives Fabrics in Damariscotta Mills/Nobleboro, Maine. Not sure how to share a photo – it turned out beautifully.

The denim gingham is AMAZING! It’s super heavy duty, which is really nice.
