Work/Life is definitely starting to ramp up with Fall releases and deadlines right around the corner. Here’s a bit of what I’ve been up to.
Playing with lots of color…
And then also not a lot of color…
Forever foraging for backing as a total afterthought and ridiculous scramble…(anyone else have issues with this?)
With my poor, intended-for-apparel stash taking a hit each time.
Enjoying some dramatic, summer scenery…
And always the quilting, planning, sewing, appliquéing, and big stitching which I enjoy so very much.

Beautiful visuals, Carolyn!
If I could ask as silly question about your machine quilting–when you quilt parallel lines like in the photo you showed above, do you tie off the thread each time the line ends, or do you travel along your previous stitching and then stitch back in the opposite direction for the next line? Hope I’m explaining myself clearly, there.

Thanks, Casey! As for the quilting, I usually find some place to do some traveling to minimize my stops/starts. Hope that helps!

Yay for bigstitch! And I’m loving those colors….

Thanks, Phoebe! You will be seeing lots of bigstitch! I feel the need to add little bits of it to just about everything. 🙂 Thanks again for the great lesson!

Pretty pictures, Carolyn… well, except for the neutrals photo. Your fabric and threads look beautiful, and you are enjoying saguaro cactus somewhere, I see. You must “think backing” whenever you find a fabric sale. That’s what I do. I’m sure we’re going to see some lovely things from you this fall.

Thanks, Linda and great tip on backing!
