Registration for QuiltCon Nashville Classes in 2019 is just around the corner. I’m really excited to be teaching, and I’d love to see you in class! Registration opens for MQG members on Tuesday, June 26 at 10am EDT (next week) and non-members July 10. I thought I’d share with you my workshops here.
+ Thursday, Feb 21, 2019: FDP010 – Creating A Mini Quilt Sampler
Mini quilts are massively fun. They are perfect for exploring creative ideas, new color concepts and inspired compositions. As mini quilts they can be great decorations and thoughtful gifts, OR they can also be joined together in creative ways to make larger projects. In this workshop, we’ll be using my Lusk mini quilt pattern to explore many mini ideas both big and small. Techniques covered will be paper piecing, creative planning and how-to challenge yourself (or comfort yourself) with color.
+ Friday, Feb 22, 2019: APP012 – Hand Appliqué + Hand Quilting Basics
Get a grasp on the basics with this handmade two-parter. We’ll spend the first half of the time covering the basics of needle-turn appliqué and the other half getting a feel for big stitch hand quilting. We’ll be working from a mini-sampler project designed by Carolyn just for this class.
+ Saturday, Feb 23, 2019: APP200 – Practicing Points and Playing With Color With Wainwright
Are you ready to take on some of the finer points (literally) in appliqué? My Wainwright project is the perfect platform for practicing precise points and curves in appliqué. We’ll have the whole day to work on the technique, but we’ll also discuss creative concepts like color and composition in ways that can be applied to this project.
What do you think? All are full-day workshops, and so I know that we can really sink our teeth into them. I’m hoping we can sew together soon! Let me know if you have any questions.

I was poised at my computer at 10:00 AM and snagged a spot in your QuiltCon mini-quilt class. I am beyond thrilled. Should I buy the pattern from you here or will you be bringing them to class in Nashville? I assume you will update us on fabrics and such requirements. I am just thrilled!! Yours was my #1 class and I got in. I am really grateful.
