This past weekend I put the home improvement list aside and did some sewing, which was a good thing. I worked on a quilt for a friend and did a couple little things including some blocks for the Quilt for Aneela. Have you guys heard about this? If you haven’t and would like to participate, you can see what it’s about here.
Aneela Hoey just announced last week that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer and that she’s having surgery this week. That sucks. I figured that if I can make a few blocks that might brighten her day, I’m happy to do it.
That’s so sad to hear. While I don’t know either of you personally, you and Aneela are two of the few designers who have such amazing talent that I can’t resist buying up entire collections of your work. Thank you for providing information on how I can make blocks to encourage her in her battle against cancer. It’s heartbreaking and astounding that this struggle affects one in eight women.
Yeah, that is a scary statistic, Afton! I’m happy to share a way to send her some love at a time when I know she needs it. xo!
