Elisabeth Hardy is another dear friend who made a beautiful contribution to the release for Collection CF. She made a Marcelle Medallion Quilt, pattern by Green Bee Patterns.
The Marcelle Medallion quilt is one Elisabeth has made many times. I’ve drooled over every version I’ve seen her make, and so I was eager to see how she’d interpret it in my newest fabrics.
I like many things about Elisabeth’s quilting, especially her ability to mix prints and colors. In this quilt, I really like how she used every print in the collection in a way that feels scrappy and still cohesive. Looking at her quilt, I can’t help but think of all the different ways you could pair up and order the colors and fabrics. It’s neat!
I told her that I knew she’d make something that I’d want to recreate, and this definitely has me intrigued to give this pattern a try. I like the idea of working by color and section as you build this quilt out from the center.
Quilting the project with a big spiral is a neat way to tie it all together. It gives it a great texture while also not detracting from the piecing.
