It’s time to meet my new Cheering fabric bundles and projects!
The Fabric Bundles
My main goal here was to put together a couple of fabric palettes that are happy and cheerful. I love fabrics that put a smile on your face both in the stack and in a project.
That’s exactly what is happening here in two separate fat quarter bundles that can be used separately–as warm and cool palettes–or together in a full range of color.
These bundles mix printed pieces from Collection CF with Kona Cotton, Kona Sheen, Essex Linen, Homespun and Carolina Gingham. This mix of prints and solids, shiny stuff and textured stuff is to me what cheerful dreams are made of.
I wanted more saturation and so I limited the white/low volume pieces. Of course there are a range of light and dark fabrics, but they are all colorful.
The Projects
With new fabric bundles comes new projects that use them. First up is my Olive project that uses the Warm bundle, although I could definitely see a version of this made up in the Cool palette as well.
My newest Bow quilt uses both fabric bundles for a full range of colors and prints in an appliqué project. My first version of Bow was in greyscale, which I loved, but I knew I wanted to do one with tons of color as well. This was the way to do it.
This is the Throw size in the pattern, so it’s a good one to cuddle with, but it only uses 24 blocks thanks to the generous wholecloth panel at the top. Is that cheating? I don’t think so.

Please tell me the best batting to use for your placemat patterns…which, by the way…are the best! Your background as an architect combined with your true artistic talent are fabulous and a pleasure to learn from and create. Thank you.
