Bow Acrylic Template Set

April 16, 2022 by carolyn friedlander 3 Comments

New to the shop! I’ve put together a special Bow Acrylic Template Set.

Acrylic template sets can be useful.

Acrylic templates are not necessary for my patterns (they all include a printed version in the pattern), but they can be really helpful depending on how you like to work and the project itself.

For my Bow project, I love to cut my shapes using a small rotary cutter. Before doing the acrylic templates, I would just work from the paper version. It works well, especially if you laminate each side of the paper with packing tape before cutting it out –a genius Anita Grossman Solomon tip! Or, I guess transfer it on to template plastic, but I’m fairly lazy with that. (And can never quite remember where I put that sheet of template plastic…)

The acrylic templates are super durable and will last for as many cuts as you need to make.

This Bow set features four pieces that include an 1/8″ appliqué seam allowance, hang holes and is packaged in a drawstring cotton pouch.

Happy sewing!

The Bow template set is discounted with purchase of the Bow pattern through Monday, April 18, 2022 at 11:30pm EST using the code “helloCLIFF” at checkout. (Same with the new Cliff Pattern + Templates)

Hi CF….thanks for another post…..I wonder and excuse me if you have already written about this, but what makes you decide on a name for a pattern…does it take forever to figure it out…and your templates…when and what made you decide to have them created…it may possibly be self explanatory, but I was just curious.🍊

Hi, Rebeca! The names for my patterns can come from anywhere–whether it’s a take on the actual inspiration (like Bow, Spools, Hearts, etc), or it might be a street name or word that just suits the mood of the design itself with no literal parallel to the design. 🙂 As for the templates, I like having acrylic templates as an option on projects where I want to use them myself–seems so selfish, but I feel like if it can make the project easier for me, then it’s my hope they can be a useful tool for others as well. Hope that is helpful!
