I can’t believe that Memento–my newest fabric collection–is almost here! It was fun putting together a new Bartow Quilt in Memento.
Bartow Quilt in Memento

Bartow is a free pattern that I’ve made a few times (see here, here and here). It’s a fairly simple sew, but not un-exciting as you work your way through the different colors and fabrics. Because it has been a while, I decided to dream up a new version. This darker version features Memento as the Accent fabrics, and Rashida Coleman Hale’s Speckled in Caviar as the Background.

Bartow is a beginner-friendly project that can start with a Charm pack. There’s something so sweet about those little 5″ square packs that makes me want to sew them all up into one quilt. I love a quilt that shows off little bits of many different things, and that’s what happens here. Grab a charm pack, add in a background and your binding, and you have it sorted out.
Alternative Colorways
It’s easy to go overboard doing digital mock-ups, and I thought I’d share some others that I dreamt up before landing on the one above. All use the Memento charm pack, but with backgrounds Teal Navy, Blue Ribbon, Citron and Polar (clockwise from upper left).

Using a different background makes such a difference, right?!
