How about an Alphabet Split Pouch mix? Yes!
I had this leftover “N” block from filming in the Alphabet Workshop, and I decided to add it to a Split Pouch. To add in the letter, I sewed fabrics around it until it was as large as the template size that I wanted to make. (This is the Medium pouch.) You can hold the template over your pieced exterior to make sure your letter won’t get trimmed away, and keep in mind your seam allowances.
It’s such a fabulous way to personalize your pouch. In this case I used the middle letter size, and you can see how it wraps around the side of the pouch. You could also use the smaller size for a different effect. I love it!
I included a sweet, checkerboard label (from Sarah Hearts) on the outside, which I think is such a nice touch with the neon zipper (from Stitch Supply Co.).
On the inside, I used a piece from my Doe Wide collection. There’s something nice about a surprise inside. Lighter linings are also good for visibility.

Hi CF . It turned out super well. Those little tags are super nice as well. It looks almost like an “Indie 500” racing accessory of some sort w/those little flags they wave. Who knows where the inspiration comes from. CF what interfacing did you use for this little bag? I was trying to figure it out before asking. Thank you. And thanks for having answered my question on the “sew a long”. It’s too bad I don’t have a Podcast–I would love to interview you for hours–it would be fun. I’ve said this before you should do some kind of licensing deal (or on your own)==CF–clothes, stationery, accessories, bags, home items, fabric, wallpaper, dinner plates, kid’s wear –small boutiques across the USA–I can see you doing just that. 🍊 just don’t bother with franchise–something gets lost with that. And you can give back to charities. Something like Tory Burch or Kate Spade. However, question regarding interfacing would be appreciated. 💌

Ah, thanks, Rebeca! That’s really sweet. I used SF101 for the interfacing in the pouch. I think it works well in this project.
